All fluff, no substance

Pros

Good benefits and relatively good salary for little work

Cons

This company only focus on appearances and politicking over scientific rigor or real purposeful work. Very little effort was made to truly integrate Seagen culture and talent. So many wasted resources on initiatives that are doomed to fail and on protecting oneself from the next layoff. If you prioritize tangible impact or purpose, avoid.

Pros

Pros include salary, work-life-balance, great name to have on your resume. However, these golden handcuffs come with a cost.

Cons

During my time at Pfizer, I witnessed a troubling pattern. Within a few years, I saw multiple talented, kind, emotionally intelligent people either quit, get laid off, or be pushed out. There is no space for kindness—just performance, politics, and staying silent to survive. If you're a highly sensitive or caring person, this may not be a safe environment for you. Rather than being supported, your vulnerability will be seen as weakness. Unfortunately, bad behavior is rewarded as with many large corporate environements.

Downhill and getting worse

Pros

Good pay and bonus this year but doesn’t make the current climate bearable

Cons

The leaders continue to make poor short term, short sighted decisions. Laying off tremendous talent and shifting work to those left who are demotivated, demoralised, beyond exhausted and tired. The ELT provide no vision for the future. It feels like they are squeezing the life and soul out of everything and everyone. No matter what role, or level, I don’t know anyone who feels valued or happy right now. It’s so sad. The words don’t match the actions in terms of culture and values. The ELT seem unaware of what’s going on. It breaks my heart to work hard along some incredible talented people and for everyone to feel so unvalued.
