For software developers it is the worst place you can be.

Pros

Salary is the only thing that holds a software development employee today.

Cons

I've been working for over 10 years. Because almost all software development has been outsourced and the developer is required to work as a project manager. Company extremely directed to one side of Brazilian politics, so if you think differently, you are persecuted. People quite intransigent. Technology Area overly bureaucratic information.

Pros

Great salary if you live in Rio. Lots of perks such as health plan and private pension. Working is optional.

Cons

Company's IT has been restructured recently and and most of the development has been outsourced. Most of the projects are now delayed and the managers are insisting to use deprecated managing techniques.
