      Fun job, not enough to live on

      Pros

      Great training, flexible(ish) hours, fun customers, great place to work if you love cars. Most of our customers are fun and appreciative of what we do. Lots of room and resources to learn about automotive technology. Room for advancement, great benefits for full-time employees

      Cons

      Some heavy lifting, not all customers are nice and exciting, pay is not very competitive and raises have been frozen for quite some time. I would keep this job forever if I were paid a decent wage.

      Pep Boys and me - a love/hate relationship

      Pros

      Nice big stores as far as auto parts stores go. A great selection and resources for sourcing needed parts for customers. New CEO and upper management seem to finally "get it" and want to take care of the customer and try to make money.

      Cons

      Technology is not state-of-the-art. No physical, hands-on support from the AD unless you were a particular favorite of that person. This wasn't the co.'s fault necessarily, though it smacks a bit of the old days' cronyism.

      Pros

      They go above and beyond on training and making sure the customer is first!

      Cons

      For one team stores the pay is less than desirable. You work twice as hard for not as much pay as the regular stores.
