I don't recommend

Pros

A big company, stable, many company events

Cons

Low salary in comparison to other hi-tech companies. Not inclusive. You're not valued by talent or your contribution, you're valued for the length of the period you've worked for the company. That means that the managers are people with high political skills but not so skilled. That's very frustrating to work under managers that have no idea how to perform your job but you still have to report to them.

A large company with a problematic culture

Pros

As an engineering IC there are immense opportunities and challenges to tackle in Payoneer. The system is comprised out of old, to be replaced, components and pieces of infrastructure that require true engineering challenges to improve, replace-in-place or deprecate. It's a large system through which an engineer can express his/her creativity. The engineering department is, for the most part, ready to take daring steps in order to move forwards, stay up to date and deliver business results.

Cons

The professional culture and personal accountability amongst the tech organization is in a terrible state. Whether it's professional bullying by more senior people, terrible communication culture in meetings, lack of accountability where it comes to decision making resulting in a cyclic process that never ends. Relations between product and engineering are abysmal and result in projects not starting, confusion about requirements, inability to plan ahead and understand priorities. Senior management hangs out together and often separates itself from the rest of the company. Executives promote this behaviour which leaves a lot of people stuck feeling bad about themselves or their work. I'm having a hard time understanding how to navigate the workplace, be efficient and grow.

Israel-focused

Pros

Payoneer might be a nice place to be, depending on the team. The German office vibe was fantastic, the colleagues were very competent and friendly. Also, the product work was interesting and innovative.

Cons

The company is dominated by the Israeli office, the Israeli culture is very dominant, and all decision-making happens there. I think acquiring other companies or opening other offices abroad is destined to fail, as they are unwilling to adjust their culture to become more inclusive.
