      Way too political and no long term view or outlook.

      Pros

      The work is great, demanding and exciting. There is a long journey ahead and enough interesting things to learn and implement.

      Cons

      Way too political and at times hostile culture which is very negative. Everyone is expected to say positive things in larger meetings and take dissenting opinions outside of even planning meetings. After a while, senior engineers and even managers get disinterested in providing their feedback and just focus on the job required.

      Pros

      old business model still very profitable from online payment perspective.

      Cons

      new leadership totally changed PayPal's culture to be unbearable. you can't survive without being political. Indian leaders only promote friends and families disregard their capabilities. Performance is evaluated based on 'sales pitch', not on real work deliverable.

      * Pay * 401k matching * ESPP * Onsite gym * Dominate player in the payments space

      Cons

      * Not very diverse * If you're not on the "right" ethnicity, you could have a hard time succeeding * Not a technology company, MBA run * To much "fat" * Lots of unnecessary layers of mgmt * Even after moving to an agile model, things still move slowly * "Bad" employees aren't purged, instead, they're just moved to another team
