Pros

High pay (associated with high risk) Healthy snacks, cool drinks (you can buy them on your own) Brand image Some technically sound colleagues Politics is not too much. But it's there. People tend to take away your work if you are not careful enough. Many KT sessions, seminars would happen, but you won't get time to participate it.

Cons

Regular Lay-Offs. I joined PayPal by reading all good reviews here. But they laid me off within one year saying silly things. You are likely to be thrown away after project gets over. HRs spoke to me so nice, made many promises, called me often to get me on board. In the end they escaped. I suspect most reviews are posted by marketing HR themselves. If you are already settled in a good company, don't join here. You will be screwed. You will be always loaded heavily. No breathing-time in between projects. I had worked even on weekends for months. No work life balance. Still your work won't be appreciated. Pay will be good in papers only. (-) all taxes, it's almost like old salary only. I don't know how they top 25 as best company to work with. It's false. If you are joining as a lateral with good experience, it is difficult to survive competing with guys sitting rubbing bench here for years. Since most of the things here are internal. Also if you caught for long term, difficult for next jump. CEO talks so soft & nice in videos; but in actual, management is very rude, never care for employees. I overheard two very top management people talking in the library "it's boring to see old face daily - lets fire some, and get fresh faces in". Understand their mentality. So you can be fired anytime. Severance pay won't be that good if you haven't spent many years in PayPal. I know the pay will hide your eyes, but based on my experience I am saying, you will regret joining here. Better take some more time and prepare well, and join a better product company. Remember PayPal even fired Elon Musk.

Pros

- I learned a lot about web application programming. - The pay and benefits are pretty good.

Cons

1) PayPal's workforce is more than 70% Indian. Of course, this is not problem in itself. At PayPal, however, the Indians heavily favor their own. They get away with this because they control the place. As a result, if you're not Indian, you have no chance at a good rating or a promotion. If you *are* Indian, you have a cushy job for life. 2) PayPal stack ranks its entire workforce every 6 months. The result is intense competition among "teammates," with lots of backstabbing, politics, and court intrigue.
