Pros

Fun brands to work for, work life balance is great, excellent health insurance, lots of fun "soft" perks like access to Paramount Movies before they're in theaters. It's a great place to start a career.

Cons

Not a great place for your career to develop after reaching middle management level. It's very cliquish, as a result, promotions are often due to who you're friends with rather than your performance. However really the biggest con of working at Viacom is the deplorable salary. Even when you consider bonuses, Viacom's pay is SIGNIFICANTLY lower than other media companies. Upon leaving for another media company, I earned a 40% raise, even though the new role was for a lower title. If Viacom wants to retain talent it works so hard to develop in entry level roles, they need to pay better.
