Pros

Beautiful lot, chance to see productions in action (although mostly television), chance to see movies for free, nice co-workers

Cons

Management is lost, WAY overpayed and has no compassion for the middle-tier workers. Stupid and costly decisions waste way too much money that could be spent on salaries. Unless you are a Director level or above the pay sucks and you don't get to participate in the bonus plan. Benefits are piddling and they keep taking away stuff (bye-bye pension plan, bye-bye health care choices)...

Pros

It’s great to be able to work on a beautiful lot with such a rich history. It’s also nice to work with others who have interest in the entertainment field.

Cons

The job is advertised as a great foot in the door to the entertainment industry…it’s not. Rarely are people ever moved up to desks, and those that do get moved up will often get pulled back down to do tours. Pages are expected to drop everything for the job, which only pays $20 per hour. The hours themselves are inconsistent, and they demand that you give THEM full availability before finding another job, despite the fact that they do not schedule you anywhere near 40 hours per week. It is clear and obvious that management does not care and anyone higher up than that? Forget about it. Pages are looked down on, overworked, and treated like cogs in a machine. The interns are treated better than the pages. The program is not one that focuses on career advancement or setting people up for success. They use the title of “page program” to lure in ambitious and excited individuals who want to get their industry start, but then do nothing except exploit them as tour guides. There are no benefits and the pay is not enough to be able to live. It’s RIDICULOUS. I have never worked anywhere with such low morale.
