Pros

A springboard for many careers. Possibility to move abroad. Good employer in terms of Pension Plan, Benefits. Internal Training. Apprenticeship program. Lateral Mover integration.

Cons

Global and Local Management totally clueless of whats going on at the front lines. There was never talk about growing (and investing), only slashing costs. Too much staff turnover. No management support when really needed. Handling clients for the privilege and not profit. A Process and not customer-driven organization. Inane process to be followed with no value added to bottom line. "You know you work for Panalpina when the process is/becomes more important than the customer". Unrealistic Management Fees that killed any profit generated and the alleged support that these management fees bought, was virtually non-existant. The human touch, which made Panalpina great at one time, was not there any more.

Pros

there are absolutely none so far.

Cons

i have tried over 20+ times to login and register with the control board and every time it says that it's incorrect. I have used the information given to me to login in. if I can't login I can't work.

Pros

Good rank and file people to work with. The company's mid-level managers are so inept that it provides many opportunities for comic relief during the day. They are preparing for a merger or something bigger perhaps making the numbers on paper look good so that the investors can get their golden parachute. Do double the work because of the systems not linked together.

Cons

Senior management (All EX K&N people) is oblivious to the bumbling ineffectiveness of their middle management. Corporate management is hell bent on hiring 'fresh' faces directly out of college, with the intent of molding them in their own image, only to see those fresh faces bolt after 12-24 months. Associates in any department other than sales are seen as inferior and insignificant. All departments except sales are understaffed. Headquarters, Basil Switzerland) are 10 years behind in Technology and refuse to invest. They have spent too much into SAP TM and it has been proven not to be an efficient solution but actually more time consuming. They are now outsourcing every department as fast as possible, Investing in Shared Service Centers. CRM constantly preached but it is not an effective solution.
