Pros

Competitive starting salary for grad role Work hard play hard atmosphere

Cons

Graduate scheme did nothing but give an excuse to pay less to do the same work as regular analysts. There was no clear development opportunities other than very poorly executed workshops on basic skills such as sending emails. Pay reviews did not take place as outlined in the job spec. Applied for a specific role and was told on day one that I would have nothing to do with that area, seemed to be dropped in a random team. Clearly poor management leading to those with most viability being given promotions/being kept in role while those spending time doing the real work are passed over/made redundant. Company clearly moving towards near-shoring most roles. Multiple offices lead to clear silos, obvious bias towards the non-london offices. Management on huge bonus schemes while analysts are below market rate salary in relation to experience.

Cons

Lots of politics, blocking and bullying people out to save money and no options but to do a year and leave

Pros

Sounds cliche, but the people are the biggest pro. PP attracts excellent talent. I've learned so much from my colleagues and I learn from them every day. It was easy to move on in your career if you work hard, lately that has changed considerably with the upcoming merger. That said, it still remains a great place to start your career.

Cons

There can be a lot of red tape when trying to bring about any change. A company re-org and a merger announced in the space of a few months was a lot for staff to take on board, it's damaged the atmosphere considerably. People have been promoted on the basis of politics and not skill. Hopefully things will settle down once the merger is consolidated and management are less distracted. It is harder for women to progress in this company.
