Pros

Oxfam's very much on a par with the other major aid agencies as a place to work. There are a wealth of international postings for those with the opportunities to take them. The atmosphere is consistently warm and friendly.

Cons

The opportunities for career progression are limited for those without a huge amount of pre-existing experience. There is too much bureaucracy, excessive meetings and not as much dynamism as one sees in the private sector.

Cons

High turnover, so you never get to know lots of people. Not enough interaction between program and non-program staff.
