Pros

Good medical/dental/vision coverage. Most colleagues are great people, and the office perks were okay. Big into DEI if you’re into that. Still only get 3 paid holidays a year though.

Cons

Management from the C-Suite down is in shambles. There are constant layoffs followed by frenzied hiring just to have more layoffs. The pay just got nuked for anyone in AZ, and leadership decisions rest with folks who have a combined zero years of real estate experience. No senior leadership is in AZ, they refuse to leave their cushy remote roles in the Bay and San Diego while the AZ rank and file are forced back to the office. Internal strategy is a joke, and reflected in their stock price as well as the recently announced reverse split, and lawsuit settlement. The company is dying a slow, painful death with mismanagement coupled with a tough real estate market.

Pros

Good benefits, Decent Pay and perks.

Cons

Corporate management is atrocious. They put people in charge of regions that have no skill or knowledge of what it takes the people out in the field to do their job. They select individuals for promotion that should NOT be promoted and over the last few years, they’ve had major layoffs, getting rid of their qualified valuable people and keeping the unqualified ones. I found out with my own personal experience that they are ripping sellers off, trying to acquire the properties they need, in order to stay afloat. They charge TREMENDOUS fees all the way around from repairs, to buying and selling fees that all gets charged to the sellers. They try and make it all sound like a great deal, but in the end it’s just as expensive or more expensive than just using a real estate agent to sell your home. When trying to sell my own home to Opendoor, I discovered that they were trying to lowball me over a $200k under market value. Overall, they are con artists and a total rip off. Don’t fall for their tricks! Use a Real Estate Agent to sell your home.
