Pros

You get a great discount between Old Navy, Gap, and Banana Republic. The environment is usually very exciting, especially on busy days. You gain a lot of friends. I worked for Gap Inc for 6 years and my best friends are co-workers.

Cons

The company really doesn't provide enough payroll. We get 7 hours to train new employees. With those 7 hours you have to do their orientation, train them on either cash wrap or shipment, train them in fitting room, sales floor, recovery and Old Navy credit card. Orientation usually takes about 4 hours and you really can't focus enough on the rest individually in just 3 hours. I think the prices are too high nowadays. There haven't been a lot of good sales lately, but given some recent promotions that seems to be changing.

Pros

Fun people, nice work environment, easy high school/college job, plus discounts at Old Navy, GAP, and Banana Republic. Most of your time will be spent on the cash register or folding clothes.

Cons

You can make more money with other part time jobs (i.e. Pizza delivery). On-Call policy sometimes sucks too. You have to call in 2 hours before a "On Call" shift to see if you have to come in or not. Made planning things somewhat of a hassle.

Pros

It is a mindless job that you should keep only while you are in college. It is fun if you are an associate, with no true responsibility. You can call in sick many, many times and you will not get fired. It is almost IMPOSSIBLE to lose your job with this company, unless you steal. This is another good reason to work at Old Navy, all you late night college party goers. But as for working as a manager in this company...forget about it. This company is not worth it.

Cons

The job is boring and it is a clothing company producing product that is of inferior quality. It is not a company for someone with a college degree. Sometimes you have to fight to get your PTO approved, and when it is approved you get called into work. The company talks about the "work life balance" but it has never balanced out for me. I am lucky to get one week off a year, and that is a struggle. You have to constantly work around the associates personal life and if you don't they will quit faster than you hired them. Corporate changes plans about what they want to do ussually before the ink on the paper dries, making it a struggle to get anything done.
