Pros

The discount. That's about it.

Cons

There were plenty of opportunities for advancement until the corporate office starting cutting management positions from the lower volume stores. Now, unless you're in a large market, or willing to move, there are two-three management positions to be had. Pay was not competitive with other clothing retailers and work hours were inconsistent. The pay disparity among my co-workers was abysmal. Some people had transferred in from other stores after two years with the company and making less than my store's new hires.

Pros

The discount is nice. It is also transferrable between Gap and Banana Republic too. Flexability of hours isn't too bad. However, watch out for management schedule changes. Bonuses are also nice-"when you get them."

Cons

Ridiculous expectations on staff and management. They want you to produce millions without spending anything. Lack of payroll is a major issue. Another issue is also the lack of communication on what the plans are from the corporate side of downsizing/restructuring. You show up to work one day and are brought into the office to be told that your position has been eliminated.
