You can gain experience with large and reputable companies working on the CPG side.

What is ultimately rewarded is ability to imitate the work of others. Senior leadership rewards and promotes those who can mimic their work style but not necessarily those who can manage or think strategically. This will continue to affect Nielsen negatively as their CPG clients are getting smarter. Hiring data scientists and want people who can think strategically and not just execute. Best to avoid unless your goal is to stay for a year or two to put a somewhat known name on your resume. Culture is extremely negative and turnover is incredibly high. Many have one foot out the door.
