Pros

The only pros I can think of are that I was able to fly to some great places, get a few cool gadgets, and meet some great coworkers who are still my friends. I am still friendly with some of my old customers too.

Cons

Everything about NICE was a CON!! I was sold a bill of goods by my old manager and RVP. They told me that there was a lot of growth in my territory (i.e. upside) and I would make a lot of money. I quit a great paying job thinking the grass was greener but I walked into to a huge landmine with all of my accounts. The previous AE (who was very nice and made a ton of $$) just walked away from the nightmares and left me with customers screaming at me). I had service issues in all of my accounts and trying to get help / support was like pulling teeth. I had a great support person but we could only engage so many people before the executives told us that no one else could fly out to be on premise to meet with the customers. I was also pulled in to help sell maintenance contracts to my existing accounts which would have fine if I had been paid. At the time that I was employed, they had people handling smaller sales for us. In theory this is great and takes a lot off my plate but the person assigned to my team was best friend's with my manager and managed to mess up almost every single order and I always had to help him out which created more work for me at the end of the day. Then, if you sold something, the time it takes to install it was INSANE! Hi Mr. / Ms. Customer, you wanted this installed this year, well, due to the lack of resources, we can't get to this for about two years, sorry. Training or lack thereof. We were sent down to TX for "bootcamp" and quizzed on stuff that had nothing to do with what were were selling. We had to take tests - which is fine and name all the executives, what their background was, etc... but at the end of the day I need to know and understand what I am selling. I was supposed to configure my proposed solutions for my customers - how do I do this if I am not trained correctly on what licenses I need to sell? No one would look over my designs but if there was a mistake, I was responsible for it. That is not fair to my customers or me. At the end of the day, I felt bad for my customers who I tried to help along with my engineer and support person. My manger and RVP did not support me. My engineer who sold everything with the previous AE basically left me in the to work with others and let me flounder (I had to get a new engineer finally). P.S. If you are a woman, stay away from this company.

Pros

Interesting Industry to work in. Qtr over Qtr record profits and performance

Cons

Here we are in 2024 and it has just been announced that 2023 Merit will finally happen, i.e. In January 2024 merit payout based on 2022 performance Benefits - get worse every year, smoke and mirrors, sleight of hand. At a couple months away from 5 years of service earning an additional week of vacation the policy changes. To get back to that same level of vacation now requires 10 years of service. The extra week of vacation employees would have earned has been repackaged as sick days. Those with the 5+ year tenure keep the extra weeks vacation AND have sick days available. We could care less about the sick days, those are for people that may abuse time off. Give employees what they signed up for and have earned without changing the target.

At NICE, we have multiple processes in place to review our employees' performance and reward them accordingly. We have people-centric policies, and any policy changes are cascaded to employees in a timely manner. Our employees are certainly our greatest asset at NICE, and we invest in them to help them learn, grow their careers, and have an exciting work life with us. Should you have any concerns, we urge you to reach out to your HR business partner or manager.

Pros

It doesn’t take much to stand out amongst your peers because the talent level is pitiful.

Cons

Working in Sales at NICE is far worse than you can imagine. The compensation plan is borderline illegal. The comp plan is 10x more complicated than anyone has ever seen before (and yet upper management is delusional in their belief that it is “super simple”). Most importantly, the company holds back 50% of commissions until a customer is at least 75% “deployed,” and then they hope that you quit or get fired or laid off before they have to pay out those commissions. I have watched millions of dollars of commissions go unpaid because the company decided to fire or lay off salespeople before the commissions were fully paid. Also, NICE Sales does not give an Account Executive any autonomy. The company treats the RVPs as their primary salespeople and expect the RVPs to micromanage every deal. This may actually be a good thing because the talent level of the average AE is so poor. Unfortunately, the good AEs are still hamstrung by the lack of autonomy or advancement. The only reason I still work for this company is because they owe me too much in back commissions. The product set is not fully integrated (nor do they plan for it to be), the support resources are lacking, the compensation is below industry average, and customers generally hate doing business with this company. At best, NICE is the pushy Oracle of call center sales, but more likely NICE is just a used car sales team trying to survive one more month while the owner brags about how much money they have in the bank.
