Pros

Mutual Company. Decent Pay. Ok benefits

Cons

Employees are NOT a priority or consideration: I worked for NYL for over 6 years, I was sent a pornographic video by my manager the day after being released from the hospital. I reported to HR. Weeks later, I received a letter (not signed or on company letterhead) advising me my former manager admitted they did send the video and they "considered the matter closed". They transferred me to a different team in the same department but refused to transfer me to a different department (saying there was no room. Total LIE) had me sitting near that manager so everyday, whenever they walked to or from their desk, they passed right by me. This person has been reported to HR AGAIN for the same behaviour is still employed at NYL in the main office. Otherwise, technologically stuck in the 90's (they use Lotus Notes) and a total boys club. Need top to bottom reform of workplace environment and corporate culture. Do not expect help with career development or planning. You will have to go it alone.
