Pros

The income is unlimited, and you can be extremely successful and I have to admit, I have made good money at times.

Cons

Management is terrible. They are all one trick ponies, they know nothing and do not work in the best interest of your client, rather, they see how they can get them to buy a whole life policy. Another thing that really angered me was how they brag about the amazing pension NYL has. It is very good, they just don't tell you during the interview process that it's only based on how much whole life you sell, nothing else. So, if you want to be an investment person (i.e. mutual funds, stocks...anything advanced, none of that goes towards your pension. In other words, sell whole life!

Pros

The people who you work with are kind, mostly relaxed people The hours are fair The pay is decent, and the work isnt too hard

Cons

The job is very monotonous and individual performance is not tracked very well, or rewarded very well either for that matter.

Pros

You are in control of your own schedule, since you are technically running your own business. The training is excellent and management really does want you to succeed.

Cons

100% commission is very tough to get by on the first month or so. Management is on you all the time to trigger your full-time contract as soon as possible since its how they get paid. If you do not have enough friends or family interested in helping you (by buying from you) it can be a very difficult career to start.
