Hello – thank you for your review. Retail is both a demanding and rewarding environment. The interaction with customers is very fulfilling while achieving business objectives. The Retail Operations team and Boutique Managers conduct regular fun challenges to help boutique teams reach their goals. With the introduction of tools such as Delight, employees can submit innovative ideas to improve customer experience and increase internal efficiencies. To date, we have received more than 600 ideas and implemented many of them. This would not have been possible without the input from our customer-facing employees. Thank you for your feedback, Guillaume Le Cunff President @ Nespresso USA

Pros

Free coffee machine and capsule allowance each month. The products themselves are very good.

Cons

It was not made clear during the interview and quite frankly the majority of training, that the main role of a Coffee Specialist is to sell sell sell. Sales targets are unattainable for the majority, those who do not have a knack for sales are micro-managed and made to feel like idiots in front of colleagues. I witnessed colleagues in floods of tears countless times as they couldn't cope with the pressure, and were simply just told that they "weren't trying hard enough". Head office have no interest in what goes on in York office, apart from the one occasion a year they decide to pay a visit. No career progression whatsoever unless you're one of the 'chosen few'. Ineffective coaching styles and a ridiculous amount of things we have to say on a call, (i.e. scripted), which the vast majority of customers simply do not have time to listen to.
