Pros

I have been with Navartis for coming on 6 months. I joined with 0 knowledge of 360 recruitment from a prior sales role. The only slight experience I had was internally looking for people for my own team and recruiters calling me. I came in as and still am a Trainee Recruitment Consultant. When I applied and interviewed, I liked the idea of this because I had the opportunity to come into a completely new role/environment and learn. I personally felt like most places would expect experience within that industry in order to be considered for a screening call, but I was judged on my prior successes and eagerness to develop. My time here so far has been a rollercoaster, I have had the highest highs and the lowest lows and grafted every day. I think this is something to be aware of – Recruitment is sales but sales times 10. You are not selling a product; you are pitching someone’s hard earned experience and dedicated time to their field to a client of which both parties could change their minds at any point. You are a mediator, a reliable person, an expert in the field (even when you start and know nothing) and sometimes a therapist all wrapped into one. Even though I have had a rollercoaster ride of emotions so far, I have enjoyed every single day of being within the company and especially within my team. The things I enjoy the most about working here is the support. You are and will continue to be surrounded by people who want you to succeed, from CEO downwards. For me, I consider myself lucky to be within the team I am. I am surrounded by the top recruiters within the business and at first that was a scary thought and slightly intimidating but from day 1 I have been nothing but welcomed and supported and I do look forward to coming into work every day which for me is something I have been looking for. I mentioned that I am and came in as a trainee recruitment consultant, you are not just left without any help. I went through an intensive 12 week training course which I was very grateful for. I think the main thing to mention with this is that it is all done in house AND by people who have actually been in your position before. This gave me a lot of hope because in my first month I felt very out of my depth. But seeing success stories all over the business and receiving such a great training course made me feel hopeful and actually cared about, like I was not just a number on a KPI chart. Advice for others: • If you are afraid of hard work…this will petrify you. You will be surrounded by people who graft day in day out. • The job is HARD. It will always be difficult; you have to accept that but be willing to overcome obstacles. Think outside the box and rely on others expertise. • Don’t have an ego. You will be surrounded by the best of the best, accept that and learn. Listen to them and take on board their advice.

Cons

Somethings to be aware of though: • Recruitment is not for everyone. The job is tough, it is constant dials, speaking, developing knowledge, helping, calling again and again until someone answers who will listen and that does not stop. If you are scared of the phone then I don’t think this is right for you and it is not just 2 months of smashing the phone every day, it will always be your day to day and fundamentals of a successful recruiter from day 1 of training bay. • You will face constant rejection. People hanging up, market being slow, candidates not looking, clients having a PSL. If being told no multiple times a day everyday is something you don’t like then this wouldn’t be the place for you.

Pros

- Excellent training and support, no matter what level you are - from coming in as a trainee up to management training if that's the route you chose to take. - Everyone wants to see you succeed and support you (not a dog eat dog environment often found in recruitment!) - Regular incentives - from freebies from the vending machine to days out/champagne/vouchers. - Career path depending on what you want from the role - either management or principal route, all based on performance, it's not based on who's friends with who and getting dibs on a promotion - all based on meeting your targets! - You build your own network and have autonomy to get out the office meeting clients, going to events etc. - Great office environment! - End of Quarters are amazing - free drinks, food and fantastic venues - all in work time!

Cons

- Some days can be tougher than others, not every day is going to be great, it's the nature of the beast at times - you've got to have the grit to dust yourself off and go again. - Limited flexibility to work from home. - Cold calling is a huge part of the role especially in the early days, but without getting on the phone you'll struggle to build your pipeline or client base - you've got to be willing to throw yourself in. - You've got to be comfortable with taking accountability, you'll make mistakes but it's about learning from them.

Pros

I’d worked in a couple of sales jobs before Navartis and honestly, they don’t even compare. In my old roles the bonuses were average, progression didn’t exist and the culture was wasn’t great. You never really got anything back and people weren’t happy. Navartis is the opposite. The training is way better than I expected, very hands on and it doesn’t stop after a few weeks so you actually learn and improve rather than being thrown in the deep end. The culture is open and honest, everyone’s straight with you and wants you to do well which took a while getting used to. The bonuses are good and when you hit them you actually feel rewarded. The team here is great, loads of support, a good laugh in the office and some brilliant nights out. It’s nice to work somewhere where you can earn decent money, progress, and actually enjoy it.

Cons

It can be tough when you’re new. Loads of people here are smashing it and have a lot of experience so at the start it can feel a bit daunting. You’ve just got to stick at it and trust the training. There’s not much flexibility. It’s very office based and working from home isn’t really a thing. It’s sales so the targets are challenging and you have to put the work in but that’s the nature of a job in recruitment or sales.
