Low Employee Morale Environment!

Pros

Nice cafeteria and better work-life balance.

Cons

Too much unnecessary drama from upper management. They care more about who you talk to, where you are at all times in office rather than looking at your work performance. Due to upper management small-mindedness, most employees feel less motivated and stressed.

Pros

My skill set has strengthened and expanded. Because resources are tight I wear many hats which creates opportunities to learn and expand.

Cons

Some are there just for the job and don’t take the time to learn about what’s around them.

Pros

Pretty good mission if safety is something you care about.

Cons

Management is completely disconnected from the needs of their staff. They make decisions without considering their effects on the team. Unexplained budget cuts with no reduction in goals is common. Management is ineffective at setting strategy or aligning work of different business units. Several high level managers are vindictive, petty, and dismissive of any idea they didn't originally think of themselves. There's no transparency in pay scales and the performance review process is a joke. They have you rate yourself on the values but never discuss these values throughout the year or hold themselves accountable to them. If I rated my manager on values like accountability, I'd give them an unsuccessful rating (blames others, shows no desire to improve or receive feedback). They are stuck with the status-quo but then upset when the status-quo produces mediocre work. Refuses to give feedback even when directly requested but constantly talks behind everyone's back. This is a toxic workplace for someone who thrives on collaboration, problem solving, integrity, and positive effort.
