Pros

I made alot of friends as around 40% of my colleagues were around my age. The 75% working wardrobe discount was good as well as 25% on Next brand, Victoria's Secret & Lipsy.

Cons

Where do I even start.. First of all, the pay is shocking. Maximum intensity of work for minimum pay (£7.32 an hour when I was 16) Everything stock and parcel wise is timed, such as collecting parcels and organising returns. If you're lucky, there could be 2 of you sorting the returns but if there's only one of you (like I had) you're given such impossible expectations to be completed within a short amount of time. Whilst I was working here, it was mandatory to work on christmas eve, as well as the day before, and the day before, and the day before ect. Within the christmas periods of the time I had worked there I had max. 2 days off (christmas & boxing day) this left me completely out of touch with spending time with my family and loved ones. The majority of the team leaders and managers seemed to have this sort of power trip and felt like they could shout at us and ridicule us as if we were in primary school (I even had one make a snarky comment about a personal issue I was dealing with at the time!!) They were very cliquey and made it obvious who were their favourites. It would be common to have verbal abuse hurled at me at almost every shift from customers and I was left with no support. The icing on the cake though, was this new sickness policy that management had brought in, at first I couldn't believe it- if you had called in sick X number of times over X number of days then it would be calculated into a score and if your score was high, it would be taken further to head office. I mean, this is ridiculous. This company really has potential to treat their employees as more than just a number and improve their management, and not just leave it to a group of people who share the collective IQ of a 7 year old.

Pros

None if I could give zero stars that would be the only pro.

Cons

Bullying culture within head office where it is openly whitenesses an no senior management ever stepped in neither did HR for that matter either. You are made to feel very small and if you dare to have a view other than the one being told to you then you are seen as a troublemaker. If you have a good attitude and want to work hard to build your career then never work here.. your personality will be beaten down until you are a shell of who you were when you arrived. Management is terrible and need serious lessons on how to treat people as human beings and not just a bum in a seat or headcount.
