Pros

Over time always available through employee portal, 75% discount uniform allowance, 25% discount.

Cons

- Poor pay (No Sunday Premium, Normal rate of pay for bank holidays) - Bonus relying on 2 Mystery shopping experiences per month - Hard to progress - Have to apply for your contract every 1-2 years through contract consultations - Shifts can get cut/added without notifying you - No appreciation from management. - Massive turn over of staff (50% of the business staff leave within a year) - Management like to 'make things up as they go' (Procedures regarding the staff Handbook) - Demanding work hours through 'Red weeks' in July and December. - Putting you on shifts when you have no availability - Cannot booking holiday's in 7 weeks of the year half of July and the whole of December) - You practically don't have a Christmas - Have to work Christmas eve, Boxing day and 27th. - Store systems are poor (Have to ring Head office to change the air con settings!)

Pros

Nice office Some amazing people Great buying power Great systems and processes Great travel

Cons

They say a fish rots from the head, that was my experience Management in a constant state of competition with eachother and stress due to child like behaviour of senior directors / CEO which trickled down through every strand of the organisation Toxic work culture, competition amongst peers and juniors / seniors encouraged in an unhealthy way - secondary school type behaviour ‘Does your face fit’ mentality Fear as a motivator

Pros

- Flexible shift marketplace where people can pick up shifts - Bonus scheme based on mystery shopper reviews - 25% store discount - Decent student job, but god knows how anybody could live off a job here

Cons

- Have to buy own uniform at 75% discount for first £75 over 6 months - Shifts can be cut a day in advance - No opportunities to progress through management - Tiny contracts (e.g. 6 hours) though people are expected to work whenever suits management - Pushy customer service model - Allowed to specify 'availability' though put in to work regardless so constantly having to rearrange work - Minimal complicated sick pay - Never know how much you'll get at the end of the month -If you 'pick up' a shift for more hours your contracted hours are frequently cut -Bonuses cut (e.g. parcel pick-up bonus slashed with no warning, delivery bonus made harder to achieve) -Time used to be 1.25 hours between midnight and 6am but that's been cut - Pathetic holiday allowance -No Christmas because all staff required to work Christmas Eve and Boxing Day, frequently starting at 6am -Irregular and odd shift patterns late at night or very early in the morning - Blocked off periods of the year where unable to book holiday. - 'Team leaders' take on more responsibility but don't get extra pay - No full-time contracts unless management, when people expected to work many more hours beyond 35 for a measly salary - Antiquated system, embarrassingly outdated - No weekends - Blame culture for people taking sick pay - Lack of creativity, everything, including displays, have to go through Head Office - PCs and tills continually breaking - Unpaid breaks - 15 minute break if you work a 5 hour shift, 30 minutes if you work 6 or more hours, regardless of whether it's over a mealtime or not - Work shifts and 'query' them then frequently don't get paid for it - Lose 15 mins pay if 2 mins late
