      Clique-y and bullying

      Honestly hard to find any positive parts about working at Next.

      Cons

      Managers were clique-y and bullies. Worked there for 3 years and got shouted at, accused of doing things. The people that worked there longer obviously got along with the managers but ever since I started, everything I did was wrong (apparently not wrong enough for them to fire me though?) Collegues would sit and chat for over 10 minutes and if I spoke to someone for 10 seconds, I was pulled up for it. Got told what to wear for my uniform (bright red jeans and a swan pattern blouse) which was clearly making a joke out of me (it was my first week there) and when I left the room I heard all the managers burst out laughing. Another time I ate a mini mars bar in the stock room whilst walking through (hadn’t ate all day and didn’t have a long enough shift to have a break, my stomach was getting a bit sore and it was all I had on me) and got pulled up and made to sign a formal warning sheet incase I “stole it” from the shop (They don’t even sell mars bars?). Just picked on constantly for the 3 years I worked there, went home in tears most days and it had a big toll on my mental health.

      Work with some really lovely people who have become genuine friends.

      Cons

      Too many to list... 1. Some of the Managers are complete bullies and disrespectful. 2. Huge pressure during sales with no motivation or help from Managers. 3. Sales at Next are a living nightmare with no organisation resulting in numerous valid customer complaints. 4. Training very different depending on what department you work in. No real time to complete training. 5. Constant negative feedback which is soul destroying and makrs it difficult to get up for work each day. 6. Bullying culture especially towards young temporary staff.
