Working at NEC Labs provides a unique opportunity of having both the academic research freedom and industrial companies financial support to perform excellent cutting edge research.

Cons

I like the research work at NEC Labs, nothing to complain there! One thing to say is that most of the researchers are not that sociable here. I think that's the way we are! Money-wise, you better compare salaries before you join.

There is a great deal of flexibility. I really enjoyed this experience more than I expected I would. Thanks for looking.

Cons

This is actually for Beijing. The lab has a challenge trying to find scientifically novel and commercially viable projects. These are separate skills and it is a great deal of pressure for the employees.
