There could be much cross-departmental politics going on - it is easy to get caught in the crossfire if you're not careful

- Favoritism towards certain employees. People that suck up to the managers (keep buying coffees, keep chatting with them in the offices/outside of work, show others in poor light) are the ones that get all the good work, while others that put in an honest effort are the ugly and unloved ducklings there. - 3rd world working conditions at the Melbourne office. No amount of complaining will help. The carpet stinks, the kitchen area smells like an abattoir, the toilets are overflowing/not working, the filtered-water tap is always stuffed (it takes a month on average to fix), the aircon is always blowing out tiny black bits of soot, ERGONOMICS - no one gives a flying eff about it! - No SOE, people use anything from MAC's to Server OS's to Win XP through Win 8 as their desktopsm often with no AV or obsolete AV - The Sales team makes dubious sales, promising things that dont event exist in the company. Then it's upto the techies to somehow make things happen. Then people need to cut corners to make them happen. It's a dog's breakfast, really.
