Pros

Absolutely great people - beside the fact that everyone is smart, driven, and hardworking - they are also for the most part just great human beings. Since my day one, I've been impressed with how humble and nice people are here. My manager not only treats me with respect as an employee, but also shows genuine care as a person to another. There is a tangible climate of mutual support, collaboration, and ownership. The environment can even be considered family-like. Happy hours with coworkers and even management are the norm - I found myself chatting with the CEO over a drink within my first couple months. Market opportunity is incredibly exciting with a solid vision to back it up –this makes career growth prospects equally exciting. I believe this excitement is reflected well in employees and adds to the cohesiveness and high-energy of the company. Everyone works hard, plays hard, but respects and supports each other along the way. Even as someone who is pretty entry-level - I feel that my work is impactful and is contributing to building the company. I came in with fairly high expectations and was still pleasantly surprised. Overall, I couldn’t be happier and look forward to growing with MuleSoft long-term.

Cons

Long hours - but they pass by quickly. Growing extremely rapidly so going through some growing pains. Need to figure out how to sustain the startup nimbleness while still being open to adopt best practices of larger companies as we grow.

Pros

If you want to work for a pre-IPO software company on the way up that creates interesting technology then this is a great place to be. Engineering has a ton of initiatives in progress, so there are always challenging projects to work on and new technologies to learn. Most of the company develops in Java with web frontends built using AngularJS, but newer projects are written from the ground up using Node.js. Backend platforms heavily utilize Amazon Web Services, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, Hadoop, etc. There is a very high bar to entry, so all the people who work here are really smart and interesting with good attitudes. As an engineer I mostly work with other engineers along with some people in professional services, product management, documentation, HR, and marketing/sales. In general the atmosphere is very collaborative and friendly with little political B.S. The company is growing rapidly, so you won't be employee number 10, but you also won't just be another face in a crowd. Most everyone knows each other by name and management does a decent job keeping people in the loop of what's going on at the macro-level. You'll find plenty of people enjoying a beer together in the common area Friday afternoons. Salaries are pretty good for engineers, but obviously won't quite match what you can get at an established large company. That's where the hope for an equity payoff comes in.

Cons

Nothing serious to complain about. Occasionally you'll find some dysfunction, which is inevitable whenever people from differing backgrounds work closely together, but it's always very minor from what I've seen. The sales and marketing teams can be a little more high-strung, but that's just the nature of those types of jobs and is common to every company I've worked at. Engineering and product managers are very busy, so you won't get a ton of hand's on direction, but that shouldn't be a problem if you're a self-starter. The products are not the latest sexy consumer fad, but the underlying technology is very interesting to work with and the business applications are huge.

Pros

Extremely smart co-workers, dedicated and on-point executive staff, huge market, good technology that keeps getting better. Impact is expected and ownership is encouraged, and the team is all pulling in one direction together. Management is very people oriented, and the company values its people highly. Great office, good perks, solid benefits.

Cons

High intensity/long hours; this is not a 40 hour a week kind of place. Workload isn't always well distributed, so some people end up pulling a lot more nights and weekends than the mean, and also become bottlenecks. Management should be better/faster about parting ways with low performers; when needed (rarely) we tend to manage people out instead of confronting the situation. Compensation is solid, but not as tied to performance and impact as it should be.
