Pros

Management was professional, but spoke to me realistically, didn't appear to beat around the bush, steady supply of work, always busy.

Cons

Management started lying about when I was supposed to get my 30 day review and a raise, left after 60 days of being promised a 30 day review and a raise. Management began making mountains out of mole hills. My child support was being deducted from my paycheck, but wasn't being distributed to child support. Was forced to buy cleaning products to keep the shop clean out of my own pocket.

Pros

Little micro-managing (as long as you "hit your numbers" pay was salary plus commission, which equates to a decent pay check if you are st a busy enough store.

Cons

Little to no recognition, although you are held to high responsibility. Reasonable starting salary, however good luck getting a raise. You are paid based on 40 hours, required to work 50, but scheduled 60 - however you are expected to cover any and all absences. If your assistant is on vacatiin, expect to work every open hour that week = 70 plus hours. Benefits are lacking, After one calendar year ( Jan. 1 to Jan. 1) you begin to ACCRUE vacation. After a year and a half of working outrageous hours to meet even crazier demands as a SALARIED MANAGER I was forced to BORROW a weeks paid vacation, and had to pay it back when I left Midas. Turnover rate is ridiculous, cannot keep a well staffed store for more than a month, and if you are lucky enough to get the proper amount of people, you will have to lay someone off the moment there is a bad week in sales. They will.make sure you will never get your last check, and good luck being afforded Unemployment as they are run by a team of attorneys willing to spend $5,000 to take your $1,000. My advice, take the job, get your experience and take advantage of discounted car repair...Then RUN!
