Midas hopes to apply a golden touch to the car repair business. In addition to focusing on brake and exhaust system services, the company's facilities offer routine maintenance (oil changes, fluid replacements) and work on suspensions, shocks, and struts. The Midas network includes more than 1,500 franchised and company-owned stores throughout the US and Canada as well as more than 800 locations in about 15 other countries. (Midas' North American stores account for about 95% of total sales.) In addition to these, the company has about 165 quick-lube and maintenance shops operating under the SpeeDee banner in the US and Mexico.
