      MicroStrategy is a good place to learn about BI Technology... and that's about it.

      Pros

      Technical people at MicroStrategy are great and smart people. The technology is sophisticated and multi-faceted, making MicroStrategy a great place to learn about technology.

      Cons

      Management is terrible at all levels, but especially at the highest levels. The business is completely clueless as to where we actually sit in the world, with regard to customer need, as well as in the competitive landscape. Management has zero interest in providing a positive work environment where the employee is truly empowered.

      Business Intelligence is a dynamic fields and full of interesting projects. Engineers in I-Server teams are pretty good. The code base is good as well. A lot of opportunities to learn from the code base. Microstrategy products are the best compared with competitors' products. Large scale, multi-platform projects. Very diversified environments.       Bonus is quite liberal. Most Directors will allow life-work-balance.

      Cons

      No formal career track; HR completely disconnected with employees; Consulting Services VP incompetent and never focused on the bigger picture; sales people consistently have hidden agendas and never have open dialogue with Consulting Services
