      Negotiate ahead of times for active accounts or you will go nowhere

      Pros

      Great technology, recognized as a pioneer in the BI industry

      Cons

      Short-sited management. Good old boy network, hard for new hires to get started, all preferences and opportunities given to those who have been there for long time. Unless you are replacing someone or experience immediate attrition, all active accounts will stay with older reps.

      Pros

      Compensation is pretty god when you blow out your numbers. The middle to senior management of the company is very good. There is a lot of loyalty amongst the folks who have been with the company for a long time. I think Microstrategy is a place where you either make it right away and stay for a long time or you don't fit in and leave very quickly.

      Cons

      No ESPP, not stock options or long term equity. Saylor is very controlling of most of the operations in the company and seems to change his mind at random.

      Pros

      1. Senior Management can be reached if you have concerns or questions 2. Leading Software in Business Intelligence. Probably the best among the competition

      Cons

      It is much harder to move up if you start at the bottom than if you come in with some experience from elsewhere. A lot of your success will depend on which area of the country you are assigned to work for. Overall benefits for employees are not quite on par with the competition. The company does not offer any tuition reimbursement options. In the past year the company has lost a lot of its stock's value and revenue from new licensing has been done compared to previous years.
