Most uncaring company I ever worked for.

Pros

Benefits are not that bad including health, 401k, vacation, and dental. Most people are helpful and not a lot of back stabbing.

Cons

Over 2600 IT workers are being transferred from multiple locations in the north east to North Carolina. Reapplying for your old job, including Personality tests and aptitude tests are required. The entire IT workforce is being disrupted in order to get 94 million in corporate welfare from the state of North Carolina. Moral is horrendous.

Pros

The company offered great benefits, including health, dental, long and short term disability, and life insurance. They had a matching 401K option, and flexible spending accounts. The office hours were Monday - Friday, and would provide flexible schedules including 4 - 10 hour shifts, or split shifts to accomidate for employees going back to school or with special needs.

Cons

The insurance industry flows with the financial sector in the market. If the financial or insurance companies are impacted, Metlife also receives a blow. Also, MetLife began offshoring and outsourcing some of its customer service positions. Representatives are now required to be more valuable by cross training on multiple product lines.
