Pros

Keep your eyes open and you will learn what makes a large global company stay in business for 150 years.

Cons

- if you want to advance you have to give your body and soul to the Metway rules - 0 work life balance if looking for advancement. Calls in the morning with EMEA, work all day and then calls at night with Asia - bonus ratings are a black box. Never consistent and always leave you wondering what is going on behind closed doors. - unprofessional layoff process. Always look at high salary people with years of experience not thinking of the impact when these resources are lost.

Prepare for no work/life balance

Pros

Great co-workers, nice campus with amenities, good pay but not competitive.

Cons

The main con was the oppressive workload and you never got to unplug from work - Management sent emails/texts night and day, weekends, and even when on PTO (aka Pretend Time Off here) with responses/actions expected right away. With few exceptions, the 'worker bee' workload is suffocating and unreasonable.

Pros

Great place to get in and obtain some good skills to add to your resume. Benefits are great in comparison to most companies

Cons

Don't plan on getting a promotion even if you are rated as an exceptional performer year over year If you plan to stay long term, keep your skills up because IT at Met is not leading edge. Loyalty can bite you in the end. Blame game is daily and if you have enough guts to push back, you are permanently marked as being difficult to work with. IT organization is structured to foster this kind of behavior. There is a lot of animosity between employees and vendors where it does not seem employees are valued as highly as the offshore vendor resources by senior leadership.
