      Toxic leadership and low morale

      Excellent benefits, PTO, work from home

      Cons

      Low salary for the role expectations. The environment is toxic, morale is low and the department is run by narcissistic ‘leaders’. Work/life balance does not exist

      Pros

      The people I worked with in all states were wonderful.

      Cons

      Senior managment and the older CEO did not do a good job. Many decisions and mergers did not make any sense, especially putting actuaries and investments in one department. Billable hours were obsessions and people were only numbers. Moral was down. Hopefully the new CEO will change things around. Many good people are gone.

      Flexible company for strong performers

      Pros

      If you work hard and perform well, Mercer is extremely flexible with your work arrangements and will work with you.

      Cons

      Raises and merit increases are an uphill battle for those already within the firm, including for promotions. The best way to get better pay is to leverage outside offers.
