      Great if you are in sales but consider carefully if you are an engineer

      Pros

      Medallia is a great sales machine. They are in an untapped market which gives them great business potential. Senior Management is from Twitter, Microsoft etc. and are really good, approachable and hardworking, trying to make things better. CEO is very humble There are chances that the company does do an IPO though it is not clear when. If you are in sales or are looking for a company that has a decent chance of IPO this might be the company for you.

      Cons

      Several of the engineers have been in the company for very long years and have absolutely no knowledge of even basic engineering principles. Several smart engineers and managers are frustrated with having to work with them. Constant tension and complaining further reduces motivation. For a engineering team this small the pace of progress is pretty slow and tooling is frustrating unreliable and slow. Several of the technologies that you will take for granted in other companies are not even known to engineers here and most of the mundane engineering tasks are self built and over complicated. Like mentioned before Medallia is Medallia because of it's sales and not engineering. Company is not very well known in the tech arena and therefore there are challenges to hiring.

      Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback! We do have a legendary Sales team – one that is enabled by product development from a great (and growing!) Engineering team. We still have a ways to go to become the tech powerhouse we aspire to be, but we’re making great strides and will not compromise on quality – even if it means we take longer. We are leveraging the latest telemetry systems (Wavefront, Sumo Logic, etc.) as well as dev tools like JIRA, GitHub, IntelliJ and more. Beyond that, Medallia Engineering is constantly transforming. We are looking for engineers who are passionate about changing both the organization and the world. A tiny startup faces different challenges than a company hitting its stride, and the engineering team is committed to taking us to 50x what we are today.

      Great for improving as an engineer and taking you to the next level

      Pros

      Great place to learn and go beyond what you know. You'll always be challenged and you'll always helped too. The code reviews are tough but they will make you grow for sure. Everyone knows a lot. Great care from management to employees. For guys in Argentina, it will definitely connect you to the world of Syllicon Valley and take you to the next level as a software engineer.

      Cons

      There are growing pains and the company is leaving the startup phase into becoming a big company with more "management" which takes some fun out of it (if you love startups). Though many ways to grow horizontally, not so many ways to grow vertically and the trend is to bring managers from outside.

      Currently experiencing a lot of growing pains, so there is less emphasis on maintaining the culture.
