A sinking ship

Pros

Medallia used to be an amazing place for engineers, especially before it was acquired by Thoma Bravo. I'm giving two stars out of respect for what the company once stood for; otherwise, it would be zero. Compensation increases are laughable, and there’s no real effort to keep talented people around. What used to be a performance bonus has now been downgraded to receiving swag as recognition for your work. There aren’t any meaningful technical challenges anymore; most of the work revolves around maintenance and cost-cutting. If you’re exploring new opportunities, I’d recommend considering other options.

Cons

There are still a few great people from the earlier days, and there’s a lot you can learn from them. Sadly, it doesn’t feel like they’re valued enough, so I wouldn’t count on that lasting much longer.

Pros

Overall the company logo/name is still valued so it looks good on your resume to have worked here. - some leaders want to make changes in the right direction

Cons

- Behind the scenes and inner workings of the org are a mess - overworked employees - benefits changed right before holidays which was not a great for the culture - chaotic - negative culture

Pros

Have worked with some fantastic people but most of them are all gone and everyone else is taking the first opportunity they can to leave. Use to be some decent benefits but they are now starting to cut and roll them back.

Cons

Medallia leadership continues to prove over and over that they do not care for their own employees. It is all for short term gains to meet certain metrics per quarter. The past year we dealt with multiple layoffs and the rest of us taking on the extra load so the company is running extra lean as they can to cut as much cost as possible. Now leading into Christmas they are rolling back benefits that would give the company any competitive edge on retaining top talent or hiring top talent. They like to say they are a "tech" company but they do not pay like one and now we definitely do not have similar benefits as one either. Over the years I've seen some very happy and optimistic employees turn into very miserable and disgruntled employees with a foot out the door because of Medallia's leadership. We've seen 3 different CEOs in the past 3 years along with other C-suite execs that stay shortly then abruptly leave. Upward mobility has come to a halt and no significant bump in pay per year no matter how well you perform. The business is focusing on cutting costs where it can just for short term gains that Thoma Bravo sets.
