Good pay, terrible management from the top on down
Pros
Pay is really good; co-workers and other hourly employees work really hard to get "numbers up" (more on that in the cons); lots of changes to improve safety
Cons
Workers, especially in the shipping department, are worked like dogs to get out trucks/unload trucks just to make local management look good to upper management (Florenceville). As everyone says "it's all about the numbers." Excessive paperwork for nearly everything that has nothing to do with food safety. While safety has improved in recent years McCain will turn a blind eye to other safety violations as long as work gets done on time. Also, LOTS of employee cut back to save money (and again, improve "numbers") which means current employees have to work even harder with equipment that barely works. HR does not care about its hourly employees, it only cares about the company. If you have a grievance you'll probably have to file it with the government because HR will ignore you.
