Pros
- Pay is fairly competitive - Stable company with relatively rare layoff (not always a good thing - more below)
Cons
One one side... - Too many layers of job title, and climbing up seems to take priority than performing job responsibilities. - Titles seem to matter so much, people even over-inflate their actual title on social media. VP-level folks put SVP, others put 'Head' even when they're actually not. - In the regional office, diversity is basically nonexistent. People of the same racial background gang up together, and promotions often happen within these 'clusters'. - Reorganization happens like clockwork One the other side...: - Layoff (even performance based) rarely happens. Those with low performance stick around. There are people who continue to hang around the company for years without clear job description, and they work from home or leave early/come late 50% of the time. Sometimes they still get promoted if they happen to know which 'easy boss' has a headcount opening. - Many veterans who have been with the company for >10 yrs are not keen to learn anything new or get into tough discussions on how to address the global challenges - Professionalism is little enforced. Many unprofessional and unethical behaviors like yelling and screaming to subordinates, are tolerated.
