Pros

flexible scheduling, 9.25 an hour for sales associate, morning/afternoon/evening shifts, GREAT for university students. no benefits whatsoever (but sometimes you get incentive $$, depends if you're a good employee.) sometimes free food on weekends. depends if the store opens a lot of cards.

Cons

MICRO MANAGEMENT to the max. some, not all managers, will be breathing down your neck for you to open a tjx card. all employees had to be trained on the register. retail itself sucks, so it will always feel like you don't get enough money to put up with angry or obnoxious customers. favorites will get better and more shifts, new hires say goodbye to weekends!

Pros

The work here was very easy. If you have enough shifts you will get the hang of pushing out merchandise, knowing where they go, learning the codes on the tags, and learning the hang of the registers. If you apply yourself you'll know everything within two weeks. You get assigned to different departments the more you work and the more comfortable you get with all the departments of home, mens/kids, womens apparel (includes women's activewear, missy/professional wear , and juniors) , fitting room, shoes and register.

Cons

Only negative I would say is you don't get enough hours if you're a part-timer to keep this one job. You will need another job to get by. They are always hiring new people, about three every month or so. Only other negative would be that managers stand over your shoulders all the effing time to listen if you ask customers to sign up for a credit card when you're at the service desk/register. They stand right behind you just listening to how you interact with customers especially if you aren't getting any customers to fill out the credit card application to apply. Do not miss that!

Pros

The people development classes you are sent to are fun. You get to meet a wide variety of people from different areas of your region. My staff for the most part, is pretty great.

Cons

No hours for associates. No support from HR. No support from regional trainers or managers. Little access to information or reports that you are told you need. Lots of confusion on what's the "right way" to do things. Training materials are outdated or non-existent.
