Pros

Great company overall with great growth opportunity and amazing discounts on other hotels. The management is terrific and very encouraging for interns to stay with and grow within the company.

Cons

The internship program was in its first year of being restructured when I participated in it. The provided housing was stuffing four interns in a Residence Inn room and charging us out of our paychecks for that "provided housing".

Pros

Very large, well respected company that treats employees fairly. The product is far above average for the industry. Employees are treated with dignity and respect and hard work is generally acknowledged. Individuals are able to make a difference with regards to ideas and input.

Cons

Long hours, not much personal life, LOW salary.

Pros

Can be very easy work in the right position. Mine, for instance, was very simple and not all that demanding but you did have to want to do it. As an activities coordinator, you are responsible for leading and organizing all activities and games at the resort, as well as coming up with ideas for potential new ones to add to the schedule. Some of the most fun times I've ever had at work, ever. There was also plenty of downtime in between various activities. Others may have found it to be a little dull, but I didn't mind one bit.

Cons

If you are not a people person this would not be the right fit for you. You will have almost constant interaction with guests and all employees are expected to smile and greet everyone they see or pass while walking. This can be taxing after a while, always having to be "up" and not being able to have a bad day where you just ignore everyone and do your own thing. Also some of the guests, and in this case, their children can be quite difficult to deal with at times, many were constantly looking for free items, or getting things comped just because, and they will complain to get what they want.
