Pros

Good benefits, cheap 5 star hotels stays, good colleagues

Cons

Bullying and aggressivity allowed and done without punishment by executive management, complaints about executive management are just deleted or ignored, expressing opinions leads to disciplinary, no prospect to advance unless you´re one of their national or you lick butts, too much politics and too many lies, too many chiefs, very ignorant and sad environment, I´ve seen so many people getting a nervous breakdown and crying, even the GM herself can get mean like in primary school, there were times where 10% of the employees resigned in one single week, even in one department of 7 people where they had 6 managers over 2 years, after the new manager felt he couldn't cope with them knowing more than him,he bullied them and 6 people resigned within one year....all departments are just the same there...people were congratulating each other once they know they will be leaving....associate surveys are hidden and don't lead to any changes and managers have a go with people simply to push them to leave...professionalism and manners of executive management are rather low level......and it goes on and on and on, an article in a local paper was even written about the mess in that place.....just do your self a favour and stay away!

Pros

There are opportunities to work remote part time. Most of the people are good to work with. Decent benefits, but, those are being cut back. Nice discounts on hotel rooms, when they're available.

Cons

Outsourcing has destroyed moral. Sr management is not in touch with employees below them. The company is now being run by finance managers, from the CEO down. It's all about the bottom line and wall street. Cutting benefits, rising costs to associates. They've lost the family core value management they used to advocate.

Pros

Experience likely varies drastically depending on who’s your direct supervisor. If you’re a high performer generally you’ll get good opportunities to work on interesting projects, but doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll get promoted either. Benefits are decent with standards like medical, 401k. First year hires receive 3 weeks of PTO. It’s non-negotiable. You can find some smart talents in the company. Executive team are listening and goaled against employee feedback. They do take the feedback seriously, and try to implement corrective action. Again, depending on the supervisor certain teams do seem to have more fun and are supportive of one another. Generally attending conferences and training is accepted. Some supervisors may just require more justification than others.

Cons

There’s isn’t a formula for getting promoted other than play your politics right. Even consistently receiving the highest performance rating doesn’t guarantee a promotion, which defeats the purpose of the performance rating as a source of motivation for great work. Company is still figuring out the Starwood integration, and things can be a bit confusing as to who’s doing what. There’s strong mentality of protecting your turf, and vying for visibility and self promotion. The team I was on management seemed more interested in promoting themselves than for the well-being of the team or promoting those below if it conflicts with their self interest. Highly matrixed, consensus-driven organization. Getting projects done means you have to involve everyone and their mother, and for that reason meetings, meetings, meetings. Because of the large organization, you inevitably feel like a cog in a wheel.
