Pros

Working at MIT is great for young energetic people who want to get ahead in both industry and education. People are friendly and they give a lot of opportunities.

Cons

Real estate in Cambridge and Boston is rediculous! You have to live very far away to make your money stretch because of a he crazy cost of living

Pros

The research environment is dynamic with opportunities for collaboration. No shortage of interesting speakers and events at the University, and it is an exciting place to be based as a scientist.

Cons

Graduate student funding can be difficult to secure and the bureaucratic system may be challenging at times to navigate. Graduate student stipends are fair by national standards, but inadequate relative to the high cost of living in the Boston area.
