Cons

-Poor hours, you will work day, night, and weekend -Little attention from your superior -Highly bureaucratic -Money/fame-driven...not exactly a learning type of institution

I have met many intelligent people while at MIT, MIT has great resources, and attending MIT is a terrific line on a resume. Boston is also a nice city in which to live.

Cons

I received no guidance from my advisor and had to search outside of my lab for constructive feedback. Many postdocs in my lab were secretive and not willing to share protocols and reagents.
