Pros

Lots of prestige, access to resources, best talent and the name. Cambridge or Boston are great cities to live in. You'll enjoy the night life and range of things to do in Boston if you have the time.

Cons

High stress environment, expensive cost of living, low income! Academia, so there's politics and ego. Your success and enjoyment depends largely on your major, degree, and advisor. Choose very wisely and REALLY talk to people when you visit. You have to decide if it's worth it. There aren't many resources for graduate students with troubles with advisors that have any effectiveness because you're an at-will employee.
