      Poor Strategy for Houston Office

      Pros

      Great opportunities through their MITAS program, food and soda was provided for a small fee

      Cons

      Hard to get any training approved, poor strategy for Houston office, other offices have nice features like beer after work, sit stand desks, games in common areas, bikes to use to get around near by, etc.

      Pros

      International company - brand recognition is high. Other than that, it is had to find twenty words to say anything positive about this company.

      Cons

      Everything run by SOPs and most of the middle and senior managers are like robots, 'escalating' every problem and question so they don't have to make any decisions. Too much silo-mentality and most processes are run through service centres in India who know nothing about shipping. They renege on their promise to pay a bonus - something quite dishonourable and which is beneath most reputable companies. They also have a stated aim to hire non-shipping management level employees. So far, that has not got them very far. Building so many Triple E containerships and leading the liner shipping industry into some of the worst rate declines seen in three decades. Danish arrogance to try to claim credit for almost everything, including inventing containerisation.

      HR is the weakest link & US closure coming soon!

      Pros

      The Houston office was full of potential and an excellent company to work for. However, HR took control and destroyed everything. On the positive side, free lunch in the canteen is A+++

      Cons

      Most of top management and HR are just twittering their thumbs all day! HR spreads rumors, gossips and are vengeful. Employees' information are not kept confidential. If you report any concerns to HR, you will receive a separation notice and forced into signing it or your pay will be withheld.
