Pros

Great Benefits, great PTO plan, great co-worker's. Constant change in working environment, room to learn and grow personally and professionally. Training is excellent, especially sales training. Clients were incredible to work with especially in the indirect retail aspect of the job.

Cons

Under valued and Under Paid. No clue where monthly objectives came from nor would anybody within the company coudl explain how they came up with objectives. Decreased commissions year after year and increased objectives. Constant micro-mangement. More reports then time in the field to constantly bind you to your office.

Can be good company to work for

Pros

Compensation seems fair for the most part. The benefits are competitive and there are really nice programs and incentives to help manage your overall health Most of the managers I've worked with have been very good. Company is quick to implement changes where needed needed.

Cons

There have been a number of employee reductions and the expectation is doing more with less people, in some cases unreasonably so. Limited opportunity for advancement in the company to higher levels. Not as much focus on automation as needed, instead rely too heavily on manual work. Significant changes in direction occur frequently and you need to be willing/able to adapt.

Not a great place to work

Pros

If you are connected with the right people you will have a job for life, and may not have to work very hard at all.

Cons

Decision-making takes forever. Several 'good ole boy' networks exist with the company(s). As CTL is a mix of CenturyTel (Monroe), Embarq (Kansas City) and Qwest (Denver), there is a lot of internal bickering and back-biting at the top. Despite being based in Monroe, Denver seems to have the upper hand.
