      I am a seasoned Technology professional & have excelled in various organizations/roles ranging from individual contributor to senior management. CenturyLink was the worst employment experience I have ever had. After 1 year I raised concerns around hiring practices that I believe negligently misrepresented the position I accepted (and relocated for at my own expense). Simultaneously, I pointed out discriminatory compensation practices. I documented all of the above in the most professional, constructive ways possible and formally submitted to leadership. I then resigned. CenturyLink's actions following my resignation indicated my allegations were true. Regretfully, no one had the professional courtesy to follow up with me and address or even respond to my allegations. Consequently, I am taking further steps to get answers & accountability from CenturyLink. I would NOT recommend this organization. I do recommend anyone considering employment there ask a lot of questions to ensure they flush out any red flags that are not being disclosed & get everything in writing.

      Pros

      CenturyLink has a lot of talented people as a result of many big and little acquisitions. The benefits are decent and the work life balance is very good.

      Cons

      The executive leadership team is in disarray and there is not a lot of vision. It's almost like a 1%-er environment. The very top takes care of themselves but they don't know how to develop or motivate the rest of the organization. If you want to work for a "game-changer", CenturyLink is not the place. They are stable but they aren't doing anything unique.

      Pros

      Good base salary, good network, and some really good peers to work with daily. Health benefits are good.

      Cons

      Management on the local level is poor. They try to manage based on Sales Force analytics rather than sound sales fundamentals. Promote the entry of bogus opportunities to meet these analytics and then scramble to meet sales objectives. No real sense of direction on their products and services. Limited opportunity to work remote even for outside sales and above quota.
