Cons

Retained staff post merger asked to take substabtial pay cuts while receiving increased workloads. Unofficial (i.e. gossip) within EMBARQ was that salaries were tied to cost of living in Monroe.

Good 'ole boys from Monroe bit off more than they can chew with the Embarq purchase. Embarg much too large and advanced for their abilities to lead.

Great benefits, structured work environment, if you like to be told what to do and how to do it that is the place for you.

Cons

No place for creativity or independance in your work. Very difficult to progress and excell - this is a company not open to diversity for the managerial or highly qualified positoins. Very conservative and unfair internal promoting process.
