If you have what it takes to drive revenue growth for your producers, you will be rewarded with comp and career advancement. If you are young and hungry to learn, this is the place to get your feet wet as a recent college grad. Learn what you can, make connections and get hired by a firm where career advancement is possible for the average non-producing associate.
Cons
Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, resilient and an a*& kisser to have any chance to advance. Management rewards the few standouts very well, but the average worker has little opportunity for career advancement. Be prepared to get the run around about compensation unless you have the talent to get on the fast track. Overall, you can get paid more for much less stress elsewhere.
