Pros

30 days holiday Exposure to loads of other companies Complex work International Nice office; nice subsidised restaurant Nice history Nice location

Cons

Lip service to gender equality and diversity Old boys club mentality still hidden Top exec is not very diversified Say they want innovation but like people to toe the line Self regulating which is not in the best interest of the market as regulation ought to be for the best of the market not for the best of the members of lloyds Very slow to get anything done Atrocious HR Incredibly political

Pros

Benefits are in-line with the industry.

Cons

A toxic culture within the MRC and rife bullying. Poor performance by senior management who are cliquey, lack direction and accountability, are dishonest and provide little to no support to staff. Low team moral and a lot of unhappy faces. Worrying levels of overtime that are expected, unrewarded and continuous. Lack of career progression. Overall, an unpleasant environment to be in.

Lloyd's Response

Lloyd’s does not tolerate unacceptable behaviour of any kind. We encourage employees to raise any concerns about conduct within the corporation in confidence, and regularly ask colleagues for feedback through our anonymous employee surveys. Only by employees speaking-up can we ensure that action is taken to improve their experiences. Our recent results indicate that the team have a positive experience of being part of MRC. However, we take any negative comments very seriously, and strive for continual improvement to make our workplace an enjoyable and collaborative experience. We have reminded all colleagues of how they can feedback to their line managers and all available channels.

Pros

Benefits are good i.e maternity cover is really good Then the rest are all standard insurance benefits I've seen

Cons

Belittling and rude culture form the heart of the risk team with people clearly never learning that speaking to someone with respect would go along way. There were 2 tag team individuals that were the most obvious for doing this. But overall the culture was terrible hence me needing to leave. Never in my career have I felt as if being myself was going to be such an issue. Very much operating in cliques and was left wondering why I bothered coming into the office everytime. They should be leading my example but this is not the case. Mean individuals.
